While recording 1st party iframes is supported with our web-sdk recorder, this is not yet the case for 3rd party iframes, which are displayed as censored in the recordings.

Although it's technically possible to record 3rd party iframes, there's no current option for Smartlook to record 3rd party iframes at present. This is because the script cannot retrieve the content that is sandboxed inside such elements, and due to potential security concerns, we've decided not to implement this feature.

A possible workaround could be to place the script directly into the 3rd party iframe, but please note that recording of these elements cannot be officially supported.

If you place the Smartlook tracking script directly to the 3rd party iframe, and the content of the iframe is hosted on the same domain as the rest of the page, the iframe content will then get attached at the end of the page recording. Otherwise, a new recording will be created for the iframe. This is currently the only method for recording 3rd party iframe content, but its viability depends on your implementation and iframe content.
